A few hours ago in Pamplona, the International Jury of the 18th Edition of the Malofiej Infographic Awards announced the list of the winners.
Congratulations to them and to Javier Errea and his fantastic team that every year improves tone of the finest journalistic competitions of the world.
Visual journalism at its best!
Above is the double spread of my Manifesto about Visual Journalism published last year.

Felipe Lloreda is the New Media Editor of El Pais, in Cali, Colombia, and Mauricio González, its brilliant Multimedia Editor.
And this project, CALI, THE CITY THAT DOESN’T SLEEP is a fantastic multimedia presentation of the nights in this unique city.
Unique like this amazing production.
A model for many newspapers still reluctant to embrace creative multimedia storytelling.
As i said in my article in the Malofiej Infographic Awards 2008 Book, this is the future.
I am sure than the old generation of the Lloreda family must be today very proud to see what the new generations of the family are doing.
Well done and congratulations: Bravo!
And we want more!
Tis is Journalism Caviar!

This is one of the worst (if not the worst) animated graphic ever published by a serious paper.
Enough to fire these amateurs.
It looks like a bad and dry powerpoint.
The FT has to send his graphics staff to the Malofiej workshops, and get the Malofiej annuals.
They are really behind the loop.
Oh, boy, they need some training.
Just compare with this one from Jonathan Jarvis.
And this was just from a student!
