Today, after his presentation at the Canadian Newspaper Association’s conference, I asked Rob Curley about the Apple iPhone.

“I asked my COO at the Washington Post to get me one as soon as it is available.”

He said that now they were playing with the latest Nintendo.

His show was great.

If you are among the people saying, “Hey we have a good story, we are going to hold it for tomorrow’s paper,” Rob says: Don’t. “If readers see smoke and they log onto your Web site and don’t see it there, they don’t think you are holding it for tomorrow’s paper, they think YOU SUCK.”

As Donald Graham says:

“I can not belive that he is one of our vice presidents!”

His mantra today:

“Online publishing is easy.”
