As I said before, “i” launched today the first weekly supplement “O Melhor do New York Times.”
This is a selection made and designed by the editors of “i” — not the standard design by The New York Times, which is published in some quality newspapers around the world.
Well, the product is gorgeous.
So it’s the interesting content.
And the elegant design.
INNOVATION’s Javier Errea did a super job again.
The idea for this “The Best of The New York Times” came during the first lunch that I had in Lisbon with Martim Figueiredo, André Macedo and Francisco Santos.
My suggestion was to use first-class content (copy, pictures and illustrations) from The New York Times in order to make “i” a more cosmopolitan and trendy newspaper.
They loved the idea.
The same afternoon I contacted Gloria Anderson in New York and the rest is history.
(Gloria knows that this is an old idea that INNOVATION has wanted to do for many years, so thanks to Gloria and her team, and to the editors of “i” who made our dream a reality.)
And here it is.
First a few fantastic cover stories.
And second, Album, with a portfolio of great pictures.
All in just 16 pages.
Journalism caviar!
A collector’s supplement.
