Martim Figueiredo, publisher and editor-in-chief of the new paper, writes a good definition of the new concept in today’s first issue of “i”:
Aggressive like a newspaper, with the depth of a weekly, and the sophistication of a magazine.
A different kind of newspaper.
A “newszine”
A daily-news-magazine.
For new generations of readers.
An iPod newspaper.
A collector’s issue.

Congratulations for yet another fantastic outcome. Looks like a very interesting and contemporary project. Bravo. Another “newszine” out there. Its good to know that there are people who believe in change and have the will to change.

Am I the only one to see some of its spreads as Monocle Magazine rip-offs?

This is a Monocle copy-paste. That’s shameful. It’s great, I’d love to read it daily, but good design doesn’t mean steal good design from somewhere else.
