I am selling my car before I go to Wales.

My first online car sale was in Detroit, and a great Toyota Avalon was sold in hours.

A few years later, I sold my British car in Wales again online.

Now, I have several online offers for my Norfolk car, and in a few hours it will be sold.

Autotrader.com is a great Web site with more than 3 million vehicle listings from 40,000 dealers and 250,000 private owners.

They provide the largest selection of vehicles and attract more than 14 million qualified buyers each month.

Auto Trader’s businesses had been part of Trader Publishing Co., a joint venture begun in 1991 by Cox Enterprises Inc. and Landmark Communications Inc., the Norfolk company that publishes The Virginian-Pilot.

The companies split the businesses in 2006. Frank Batten Jr., Landmark’s chairman and chief executive officer, said at the time that he wanted to reduce Landmark’s exposure to the volatile classified advertising business.

Well, my friends, these are great businesses.

But the Batten family decided to cash in.
