Yes, they are in Chapter 11, but at least the Chicago Tribune is going to sell a lot of copies with this amazing case of political corruption.
U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said in a statement this morning that the breadth of corruption “would make (Abraham) Lincoln roll over in his grave.”
The Chicago Tribune could have broken the story eight weeks ago, but would have compromised the FBI investigation.
In response to a request by the FBI, the Tribune held the story.
The Tribune finally published much of the story on Dec. 5, and today it is selling more papers than ever.
