Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, with daughters Sasha and Malia, arrived at Shoesmith School in Hyde Park just after 7:30 a.m.
Obama by-passed the one-hour lines that had already formed at the school.
“I hope this works.” Obama joked.
“It will be really embarrassing if it doesn’t.”
The room erupted in cheers as he declared, “I voted.”
