This is really amazing because this is a very small newspaper.
With a small staff.
But young and creative.
A WILD IDEAS newspaper.
It’s local.
Written in Catalan.
The only Catalan newspaper in Majorca (Spain).
But DIFFERENT.
DIFFERENT.
DIFFERENT.
And it’s now, officially, one the three “best designed newspapers of the year in Spain and Portugal,” according to the jury of the latest annual competition of the Spanish Chapter of the Society for News Design (SND-E).
For newspapers with more than 50,000 copies, the winner was PUBLICO from Madrid.
For newspapers between 20,000 and 50,000 copies, the winner was DIARIO DE NOTICIAS from Lisbon.
And for newspapers with less than 20,000 copies, the winner was DIARI DE BALEARS.

INNOVATION is very proud of the team that for this project: with Carlos Soria as the director, Javier Errea as INNOVATION’s chief designer for the new Diari de Balears, Carlos Enrique Bayo and Ismael Nafria.
Congratulations also to Pedro Serra, the president of the paper, Carmen Serra, Miquel Serra, the editor, and Manuel Riera, the art director.
The Serra Group is the publisher of ULTIMA HORA, the leading paper in Majorca, and Diari de Balears is the “little brother,” that is the BIG BOY today.
SND-E also gave a Gold Medal to INNOVATION’s redesign of Diari de Balears.
