SPANAIR, BOEING, SAS, AND MANY OTHER ISSUES TO BE COVERED AFTER MADRID’S BARAJAS JET CRASH

Files under General | Aug 21st

The front page edition of today’s EL MUNDO in Madrid makes the point.

Not these ones:

Instead of using the predictable “hell in Barajas” on their front page like almost every other Spanish newspaper, EL MUNDO has a provocative headline that says what 90% of the reader comments have been saying in the last 24 hours: Spanair’s management has a lot of WHYs to explain.

But what about SAS, the real owner of Spanair, which is no longer a Spanish air company? Silence.

What about Boeing? Silence.

What about the technical people that “solved” the plane’s problems before the final, fatal takeoff? Silence.

It’s time for answers, not for questions.

We need real reporting.

And there are a lot of stories to cover.

Especially when their is so much silence, coverup and incompetence around this tragic accident.
