Corey Williams, an AP writer, says today that:
“Attorneys for Kilpatrick and Beatty have said their clients will be exonerated.”
Well my friend, do you know any lawyer who says their client is not innocent?
Mayor Kilpatrick said he will not resign, and his attorney, the famous Dan Webb, said that forcing him to step down now would punish the mayor of Detroit before he has had his day in court.
So, the soap opera continues.
At least the former governor of New York saw that the state was more important than his private affairs.
But in Detroit, the mayor thinks that the city needs him.
I hope that the citizens of Detroit will change his mind before he and his aide go to jail.
The Detroit Free Press reports that Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Monday that even if Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick resigned, it would not spare him a trial on criminal charges that threaten to send him from the mayoral Manoogian Mansion to a prison cell.
Watch her dramatic and powerful speech here.

Kym Worthy for Mayor!
