I just returned from the biggest political rally in Virginia Beach history.

18,000 people (90 percent black) came to the Virginia Beach Convention Center to see and hear Barack Obama.

The parking lot was full three hours before the rally.

Long lines to enter.

Not the audience for a black minister.

He entered the room as today’s winner in Maine.

He spoke as the Democratic candidate for the November elections.

Almost no references to Hillary Clinton, but many to John McCain and George Bush.

If he wins by a landslide this Tuesday, the Clinton’s hopes are gone.

He is the future.

They are the past.

A lot of young people.

Enthusiastic.

Happy.

And confident.

Like him.

Relaxed.

Articulate.

Ready to lead a country in need of hope and change.

He has every chance of being the winner.

Next Tuesday in Virginia.

And next November in the US.

He was the “improbable” candidate against the “inevitable” one.

Well … the country wants politicians for the future.

Not from the past.
