INNOVATION’s David LaFontaine is in Colombia and sends this great front page:
This is the front page of El Tiempo the day of the mass protest march against the FARC guerillas.
Brilliant, daring design.
The first time I saw this page, I blinked, wondering if my contacts had somehow gotten switched around again.
Then I wondered if there had been a printing error.
Finally, I looked closer and saw the box, lower-center, below the fold, and realized what they were trying to say.
Turning Your Back on the Problem Will Not Make it Disappear
This is a courageous design statement, worthy of the cause that it champions.
The fact that all this was born out of a Facebook group – that this is such a great example of the growing influence of the non-traditional media, is also noteworthy…
“Visual caviar.”
Bravo El Tiempo!
