The Independent today had to quickly change their cover after the paper’s 3am edition went out with a headline implying that Democratic nominee Barack Obama had won the New Hampshire primary. The cover, which carried the heading “Iowa… New Hampshire… America?” (right) was redesigned without the text. Even though the results of the election weren’t announced until 4am, after the UK nationals have gone to print, most papers avoided making the same mistake.
Well, you can be a viewspaper, but as Tom Brokaw reminded us yesterday night, we need to wait until the voters vote.
