The People’s 311 is a public photo pool documenting non-emergency 311 conditions throughout New York City.
They encourage citizens to post photos here of dangling traffic signs, illegal advertising, dead or dying street trees and the like, along with their locations.
This is something that every newspaper can do and should do.
But because we are distracted with the future, we don’t pay attention to the present.
If we want to be people’s newspapers, this is an excellent way to do it.
