CONRAD BLACK IN HIS OWN WORDS

The Conrad Black trial continues in Chicago.

His “right-hand man,” David Radler, is now telling how he and his boss were stealing money for many years from the Hollinger shareholders.

Another “press robber baron.”

During a break at the Canadian Newspaper Association Congress I went to a local second hand bookstore and bought two old books about Conrad Black.

In the Big Black Book (1997), I read these amazing quotes:

- “One of the greatest myths of the industry (is) that journalists are essential to producing a newspaper.”

- “I have always had the twin ambitions to have at least $100 million and to get away from Canadian winters.”
