Roy Greenslade reports via mad.co.uk that:

Trinity Mirror is to send “semi-personalised” text messages to readers with details of competitions and stories in forthcoming editions of its newspapers in the hope of driving up circulation.

This is a new strategy for the company and will transform the way it undertakes mobile marketing.

It seems obvious.

SMS are one of the most effective marketing tools for multimedia “information engines”
