IT WAS MY MISTAKE: SORRY AND THANK YOU

A few minutes ago, I got this message from Martin Stabe regarding a recent post:

Juan, I’m sorry — but this post, and especially its headline, is just plain incorrect. Bird flu is not the same thing as human pandemic flu.

A strain of flu that becomse pandemic in humans might one day mutate from H5N1 avian flu, but Hewitt is right — the chance of this happening is remote, even if these H5N1 cases in birds are not physically remote.

The journalists who created all the reports you cited were all careful to make this important distinction.

Bloggers should be just as careful.

I just thanked him.

I said today that it’s always good to get feedback from peers.

Well, here you have another example.

Sorry for the mistake, now corrected.

At least the headline.

For the rest, I will keep it like it was.

And thank you for reading and responding.

A good lesson.
