I totally agree with you.
If IFRA was making the same mashup, maybe french newspaper would work a bit more on this.
Libé, as others, have a very small IT staff (I was one of them) and the thing is not yet all automatic.
In few months, when the publishing system will be changed, I bet things are going much more different about automation.

I like when you say "period" when you're upset! In french, we call it "un tic de langage" :-)

Well, Gilles, this is the best showcase website for newspaper front pages around the world.

Yes, it is not a selling tool.

As I said it is a way to promote your brand.

It doesn´t cost anything.

And you don´t need to understand too much English to find you cover.

If Liberation and many other newspapers are not here it is because they are lazy.

Period.

Well, I may have a piece of answer.
I looked at he french map on the website.
- Le Figaro
- International Herald Tribune
- Le Monde
and that's all for France.
I think that newspapers in France simply do not care:
because it will not attract readers
because it's only, for us, an American museum
because the website is all in English only American initiative
Liberation, for example, sends their front pages to Relay digital advertisement systems, and also to Newsstand, because it may increase the revenue. Unfortunately not more.
