Everybody agrees that the new TIME magazine needed big changes.
I am very skeptical about the changes in the new print edition, but very optimistic about the new online edition.
It has clean design.
Well organized.
Very multimedia.
With first class blogs.
And, more important than anything-else, compelling content.
Very good content.
The immediate response to the Apple iPhone story is an example.
In a few hours, TIME posted the first “the news behind the news” story.
Lev Grossman makes the point.
Writes a great story, like nobody else has done in the last few hours.
Pieces like this (two full screens) show the quality of the product.
With “instant coverage” like this one, the weekly magazine beats the technical press and blogs, but also the wire services a the daily newspapers.
TIME is today a perfect example of the INNOVATION’s “24/7 multimedia information engine” concept.
Another excellent piece is a critical review of the new design of The Wall Street Journal.
Conclusion: bookmark and read the TIME website.
Times are changing.
And TIME too.
This is good news.
More competition.
Better information.
