TELL ME A STORY

The Virginian-Pilot starts today a 13 chapter pirate story: "Out of the Sea."

Written in a beatiful and very dramatic style by Diane Tennant.

Illustrated, in a big way, by Sam Hundley.

And, as you can see, displayed today in the Sunday edition“s front page with no apologies.

What a treat!

"Three centuries ago, any ship coming or going along the Virginia coast was at the mercy of pirates, and a righteous colonial governor had had enough..."

"Freebooters and pillagers given over to dice and drink, light fingers and loose women, the pirates dressed themselves in clothing stripped from the backs of their victims and bore scars received in battle, both with humans and disease."

Last year they did the same with the Fellow Fever and readers loved it!

We are storytellers.

And, our newspapers must rediscover one our greart assets.

When we do it, our readers go crazy.

I am sure that in the next days, the circulation of the Virginian-Pilot is going to grow.

I will keep you informed about the results.

You can read the full story, day by day, at the pilotonline.com
