OUTSOURCING IS HERE TO STAY AND GROW

Read this memo from the publisher of the Orlando Sentinel, a Tribune paper, announcing to all employees the outsourcing of the circulation call center to a U.S.-based company with operations in the Philippines.

The Independent Newspaper Group is doing the same in this and many other business areas, but INNOVATION believes that this trend will soon be extended to the editorial side.

Many leading British newspaper work now with no photo staff, and the same is happening in France with photo and graphics departments.

Good or bad, the reality is that outsourcing is going to continue.
