THE LONDON NEWS: A GOOD DAY TO READ NEWSPAPERS

Today´s papers around the world are a great showcase of what is good and bad in our industry.

A few impressions:

GREAT UK COVERAGE: Reading the British quality papers, and specially The Financial Times, you realize how good they are covering big events like this one.

POOR TV USA COVERAGE: I was yesterday watching mainly CNN and FOX NEWS here in the USA, and they were really bad. Just images (the same ones, all day all the time) press conferences, statements... plus the usual bla, bla, bla of the "instant experts", but no real reporting at all.

PAPERS WIN: You read today´s papers and you get a lot of information, understanding and good analysis.

USA FRONT PAGES: mostly boring covers with topic headlines as READ ALERT, etc., but some exceptional exceptions, like The Philadelphia Daily News (the best), Newsday (original), Kansas City Star (strong), The State (sophisticated) The Virginian-Pilot (direct), or The New York Times (with more pictures than ever and all of them about the same issue).

CANADIAN FRONT PAGES
: different as always from the USA ones. The National Post, Calgary Herald and the Ottava Citizen present inaccurate graphics of airplanes crossing the Atlantic in a decoration fashion that at least is original.

A SOBER INFOGRAPHIC
: The New York Times presents an excellent one, well done with news research behind.

IS THIS A TEX OR A GRAPHIC?
: And to end, The New York Times website calls this side box a "Graphic" and I don´t see why, because is just text for a quick-read-format.

As seen today in the newseum frontpages website.
