FREE PAPER WAR IN LONDON: TO PAY OR TO READ?

The UK Online Press Gazette speculates:

"Newspaper industry insiders believe the Evening Standard is likely to go all or mostly free, in order to see off the threat of a free London evening paper set to be launched by News International in September."

As Jose Antonio MartiĀnez Soler, the founder of 20 Minutos in Spain, says: "The question is not to pay or not to pay, but to read or not to read."

London becomes, again, a lab for the future of the newspaper industry.
