A NEWSPAPER YALTA SUMMIT

Jeff Mignon in Mediacafe says that there is no space for a national quality paid newspaper in France.

What about Le Figaro and Le Monde?

Both have launched in the last few months new graphic models.

But the market is going down.

The French national newspapers were selling in 1945 after the end of the II World litiken and Berlingske Tidende from Denmark.

Gazeta Wyborcza from Poland.

Die Presse from Austria.

Dagens Nyether from Sweden.

Publico from Portugal.

El Universal from Venezuela.

The Irish Times from Ireland.

Frankfurter Allegemaine Zeitung and Die Welt from Germany.

The Sidney Morning Herald from Australia.

Helsinging Sanomat from Finland.

NZZ from Switzerland.

Le Monde and Le Figaro from France.

Asahi Shimbun from Japan.

O Estado de S. Paulo and O Globo from Brazil.

La Nacion and Clarin from Argentina.

El Mercurio from Chile.

El Tiempo from Colombia.

Reforma from Mexico.

The list can go until 50.

These newspapers have more or less the same problems.

The basic one is that all of them are buying or are going to buy their last printing presses.

In less than 10 years they must develop a dramatic new editorial, business and management multi-media strategy to become integrated on and off linde "information engines."

If not, think about the powerful message in the last advertising campaign of DHL announcing “the end of the status quo”

THE ROMAN EMPIRE

THE BRITISH EMPIRE

THE FEDEX EMPIRE

NOTHING LASTS FOREVER
